ABOUT ME

I’m Susan Strasser, an amateur herbalist and a professional historian. My work on the history of daily life in American consumer culture has been published in Never Done: A History of American Housework, Satisfaction Guaranteed: The Making of the American Mass Market, and Waste and Want: A Social History of Trash. I am Richards Professor Emerita of American History at the University of Delaware, and have also taught at The Evergreen State College, George Washington University, Princeton University, and the Bard Graduate Center.
